Dr. Suvarna Joshi

Moved by human suffering and inspired by people’s stories of transformation, Suvarna has found her calling in psychotherapy. A registered clinical Psychologist with M. Phil and Ph.D. from National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, Suvarna has appreciation for interdisciplinary learning.

Suvarna is an independent practitioner with specialization in Couples and Family Therapy. Locating problems of living in the complex interplay of social structures, her work is largely guided by narrative practice. She relates to people as experts on their own lives who actively script their life stories. She has been working in therapeutic spaces for more than 10 years with individuals, couples, and families to support them in their endeavors of reclaiming their well-being.

Suvarna is a former faculty of Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS, Mumbai Campus) and INHS Asvini Hospital, Mumbai. She is an educator to post graduate clinical psychologists in training and provides regular supervision for registered therapists in practice. Mindfulness as a way of life has a deep influence on Suvarna.
